About

My name is Kenneth M. Piekarski, a New York-based musician, producer, and performance artist. Influenced by disco, funk, and no wave—my work explores the tension between collective energy and individual isolation, giving form to the underlying anxieties of contemporary alienation.

Since 2010, I've created music as Slashed Tires, developing a body of work that lives inside your sultry fantasy of a genre-spanning discotheque that the friend you just met dragged you into. I am currently preparing music new for 2026.

As both artist and organizer, I spent over a decade as a fixture of Seattle's "DIY" scene, dissolving boundaries between music, visual art, and audiences by fostering a culture of inclusive community. My performances have brought immense joy and curious confusion to spaces ranging from the Henry Art Gallery (HITS of Sunshine, 2014) to underground venues nationwide, while publications like The Stranger have chronicled my commitment to creating hubs for experimental collaboration and safer spaces. This vision became tangible through co-creating Heartland Gallery (2012-2014) and then rehabilitating Woodland Theater—venues that served as crucibles for artistic experimentation.
